When it comes to looking your best, a combination of successful makeup tips along with simple, yet effective, beauty treatments are the way to go. While there are thousands of beauty tips and plenty of cosmetic treatments to try, we chose three of each that we think can help enhance the natural beauty that is aching to be seen.
Make Up Tip #1: Making Your Lips Look Bigger
A great way to create the illusion of larger lips has nothing to do with the actual lips. Grab yourself a colorless lip balm with shimmer. Apply a small amount to the skin just above your lips inside the Cupid’s bow. That’s the area between your lips and nose that has a small curve. The shimmer from the light creates an illusion of having bigger lips. Add a high-shine finish lipstick to your lips so that it can reflect light as well. Finish off with a quick swipe of the shimmery balm on your lower lip, and you’re set.
Beauty Treatment #1: Lip Enhancement
A great way to not only create an optical illusion, but to physically make your lips look fuller is by trying lip enhancement. Using an injectable filler such as Restylane or Juvederm, a medical provider can make your lips look fuller in the matter of minutes. These temporary treatments last from six months to one year, each filler is made of molecules that are naturally found in the body. Lip enhancement is a great way to restore the shape of your lips and/or add fullness to them. Along with the simple makeup tip above, your lips will look as stunning as a celebrity’s on the red carpet.
Make Up Tip #2: Simple, Even Skin
Here’s a simple trick to cover blemishes and make your skin look smoother. Using a concealer brush, apply cover up to any blemishes, pimples, or zits. With the brush, use quick motions to dab the cover up atop the blemish. The concealer brush is better to use than a finger because it has tapered bristles. This allows for the concealer to fill in crevices much easier as it can reach deeper into the skin. Once applied, smooth the rest of your skin with a skin-tone matching powder that will help keep the cover up in place.
Beauty Treatment #2: Lasers & Chemical Peels
Chemical peels and lasers both can help improve any hyperpigmentation concerns. Chemical peels exfoliate the upper layers of non-viable skin cells. This helps create an overall smoother look of the skin and helps free the skin of unwanted blemishes. Lasers can help improve not only pigmentation issues but also textural concerns caused by scars, wrinkles, and imperfections. Laser resurfacing treatments create a minor thermal injury to the skin thereby stimulating collagen production. The newer fractional technology allows for more rapid healing and less downtime. The settings can be adjusted to target specific concerns on different areas of the face.
Make Up Tip #3: Hiding Under Eye Circles
No one likes to have the puffy bags or dark circles under their eyes. Thankfully we have a great tip for helping conceal those annoying bags. First, you’ll need to create your own skin tone color using an orange-tinted concealer with a beige-colored concealer. Mix the appropriate colors until it perfectly matches your skin tone. Next practice the technique known as the “Hollywood V.” With your concealer brush, swipe your customized color under your eyes making a V. Start at one corner of the eye and move down. The center point of the V should end just above your cheekbone, then guide the concealer brush back up to the opposite corner of your eyes. Then, buff the concealer up, toward the eye, When you get to the base of your eye, use a more feathering technique with your brush to softly cover.
Beauty Treatment #3: Puffy Eye & Dark Circle Reduction
There are two ways to help improve the appearance of tired eyes. The first is with a surgery known as blepharoplasty. It is a favored procedure for anyone who has trouble with baggy, puffy eyes that are constantly looking tired or fatigued. The surgery takes usually between 2 and 4 hours with recovery care needed.
The other option is to use a injectable filler that helps even out the hollow areas of the eyes. A very skilled and experienced cosmetic surgeon should perform a blepharoplasty, and a skilled medical provider (whether a doctor, nurse or PA) can perform the non-surgical procedures, as the eyes are a sensitive area of the face. However, when completed correctly, the eyes have a fresher, younger look that not even a Hollywood V could make happen.
