Q: Hi Michelle,
My ears have been pierced since I was a baby. After many years of wearing heavy earrings (I blame the 80’s), my earlobes have stretched. Now, because my earring holes are stretched out, my earring backs fall through the front of my ears. What can I do about it? Please help!
Sincerely,
Stretched Out
A: Dear Stretched Out,
Thanks for your question. Hyaluronic acid dermal filler, such as Juvederm, Restylane, or Belotero can be injected into the earlobes to replace volume and provide support for your earrings. The procedure is performed in the office with little to no downtime. A topical anesthetic can be applied for 15-20 minutes prior to the procedure; most patients report minimal discomfort. On average, the results can be expected to last 6-12 months or longer. Earlobe rejuvenation is a painless, quick procedure that can be performed to give your ears a more youthful appearance.
