Radiesse® is an injectable filler which can be used to fill in lines and wrinkles and reshape the facial contours. Radiesse® can improve the appearance of a variety of wrinkles, including nasolabial folds and marionette lines, and it can augment the cheeks, chin, and jaw line.
This is a unique injectable in that it stimulates collagen growth, providing an initial plumping along with extended correction for one to two years as the new tissue regenerates. Individuals interested in improving the signs of facial aging may be good candidates for Radiesse®.
Dr. Steven H. Dayan performs the Radiesse® injection in his office, a process that may take fifteen to forty minutes to complete. A local or topical anesthetic may be administered for the patient’s comfort before injecting the Radiesse® beneath the skin using a very fine needle. Radiesse® is associated with few side effects, though mild swelling or redness may occur during the first day or two for some patients. Work and other normal activities can be resumed right after treatment.
